Writers Block
I do not have to write something profound to write.
I write to feel,
to help others feel—
guiding a meek hand down into the trenches,
where only the brave go.
But my part is only the first draft,
and the first draft of anything is shit.
I do want you to know that it is quite frightening—
but only when you stay away from the pen.
It becomes heavier in the mind,
weighted down with paperweights and water.
To stay close to the sword is to make it lighter.
Only by becoming friends with the wisdom of words
do they flow more freely.
I write because I love it.
It is only the ego that makes it fall away.
Let us continue to write,
that we, together, may become friends with what lingers inside.
