Sunlight Above, Shadows Below
And the choice to rise
Shame lives in the depths,
Where dark waters stir.
You are afraid because
You don’t know what’s down there.
What fear waits,
Tangled in the weeds of unexplored oceans?
I’m certain it’s nothing
That can truly harm me—
Nothing fatal.
Only moral memories,
Haunting from shadowy corners
Not yet touched by human hands.
But I know which way to turn.
The sun shines above,
Always faithful to lead me home.
The water is my friend.
It’s only so deep
Once you’ve turned over every stone.
I can rise to the surface
Anytime I choose.
